Evaluating Is your floor a good candidate for a floor coating or sealer? There are products out on the market today that can cover all bases no matter the condition your floor may be in. However, they do come at a cost and you need to determine at what point the cost becomes too high. If the concrete surface appears to be weak such as chipping, crumbling, flaking or is excessively soft this material must be removed down to solid concrete. Are there existing coatings or sealer that need to be removed? Are there excessive cracking including hairline cracks visible? Does the surface appear to be moving from settling? Have there been past moisture or water issues? Does the concrete dust? Have there been areas that are oil stained or have had excessive exposure to oil? Any of these issues could lead to the failure of a coating and sealer and need to be fully evaluated. login |
